| | Welcome to Docutek onCampus and ERes v4.x! This system has so many new features that we think of it as more than just an upgrade to ERes v3. Just like in ERes v3, every screen has a help link right on the page, so you won't have to struggle through an index or search list to get help. If you ever have questions that can't be answered on-screen, just drop the local ERes manager a mail message, using the link at the bottom of every screen.
ERes now uses "session variables" to remember information associated with your activity during an ERes session. This information is temporary and disappearseither when you log out of ERes, or after a specified time-out period has elapsed. In addition, the ERes server writes an ID number on your local machine, in order to differentiate you from others using the system at the same time. For this reason, you must set your browser to accept cookies. ERes does not write permanent cookies to your machine! However, in order to write your session ID number, cookies must be enabled. Here are instructions for enabling cookies in our supported browser versions:
-
Internet Explorer 5.x
Go to Tools: Internet Options: Security
Click custom settings
Scroll down until you see cookies and change both to "enable all cookies"
Click apply then OK
-
Netscape 4.x
Click on Edit: Preferences: Advanced
Choose "Accept all cookies"
Click OK
