manage your electronic reserves, all accessible through an easy-to-use
Web browser interface.
- Ease of use -
no training or technical knowledge required to use and administer the
system.
- Integration
with your OPAC via the MARC record writer.
- Complete
statistics package - enables you to generate reports on system usage.
- Document
level and course-level passwords allow you to control the access to
copyright-protected materials.
Copyright Management
Docutek ERes provides complete copyright workflow management. All bibliographic
information can be stored in the Docutek ERes database, letters to publishers
and rights holders can be generated automatically, and a powerful set
of reports and tracking summaries can be created with the click of the
mouse. Through a partnership between Docutek and Copyright Clearance Center
(CCC), libraries can also seamlessly connect with CCC's online system
to obtain instant electronic permissions on many documents.
To assist libraries in enforcing copyright compliance, Docutek ERes requires
users to accept a statement of the libraries copyright policy before viewing
documents in Docutek ERes. In addition, the access to any document or
reserve page can be limited via an encrypted password. Docutek ERes tracks
the number of times copyright-protected documents have been accessed,
and if royalties are to be paid, Docutek ERes will track the charges.
Document input via Fax
One of the most critical and time-consuming aspects of electronic reserves
is converting paper-based materials into electronic format. With the optional
DocuFax module, only a fax machine is required to put hard-copy documents
on electronic reserve. Simply drop a document into any fax machine and
send it directly to Docutek ERes. DocuFax automatically converts faxed
documents to compressed Adobe pdf format and organizes them on the Docutek
ERes server for you.
